What I wore in Mexico

Last month I spent my first time in Mexico! It was a trip within a trip, as I was visiting my family in America.
A five day trip means not much time to turn looks, and compounded with not having a tripod (forgot it in Tokyo!), I made due with mirror pics.

My airport fit was a Lululemon set I bought in Columbia Mall in Maryland! I really enjoyed wearing this set and also the freedom to wear something this short without people staring at me strangely. In Japan, I would definitely get some stares if I walked into Haneda with this on! Japan is actually a conservative country and wearing short or tight clothing will stand out in a crowd, especially if you're a foreigner like me.

Day 1 in Mexico: went to a tour of Chichen Itza and wore this white top from Shein (sorry LMAO), shorts from Urban Outfitters, my vinage cross I got in Paris, and of course my Chanel bag. This was my bag of choice for my entire trip and 80% of the time I was in the Americas, I wore it.

These shoes were the real MVP. I wore them almost everyday of my trip. Mind you, I brought 4 pairs of shoes. They function as beach/water shoes and are comfortable to swim in. They are also cute and can be styled with actual clothes too! They cost me 20 bucks and I got them from Nordstrom Rack.

On Day 1 I also visited this beautiful cenote (a natural water cave with fresh water) and the water felt absolutely amazing. There were little black fish that looked like catfish that were swimming all along me.

Day 2 was super fun! It was a day trip to Isla Mujeres or "Woman Island" in English. We sailed out on a boat complete with a friendly crew and free flowing alcohol.

I did my only driving of my entire trip, which was on a golf cart. I really enjoyed driving through the streets of Cabo and also catching the views of the beautiful waves as I drove, Definitely one of the highlights of my trip.

For the occasion I chose a Pleats Please top, helenamanzano shorts and of course my favorite new shoes!

Day 3 was swimming with the turtles! It had always been my dream to see a sea turtle and always regretted not taking the chance to see one when I was in Ishigaki, Okinawa (I had no life jacket at the time and was too afraid to go out to deep water without one)

Day 4 was spent at Taboo, the best beach club in Tulum! It had beautiful views of the beach, amazing food and drinks and the scenery was the perfect backdrop for any IG photo.

I finally got a chance to wear this Guizio dress that has been sitting in my closet for over a year. Ironically a week after this photo was taken I was in NYC and within 30 minutes of arrivjng in the city I stumbled upon a Guizio sample sale 1 block from my hotel! Full circle moment ☺️

Traveling is super expensive so I’m trying to slow down after this trip. But I’m super grateful I was able to see my family and visit a new country all in the same trip.
Looking forward to my next destination, I wonder what it’ll be 🤔
