In love with these skirts…

I haven’t really felt super excited about buying any clothes for myself lately and mainly been thinking about getting things for my store that I think you guys would like.
Of course I do this kind of work to make extra money but the overall reason why I created KO Vintage is because I have such a love of personal style and fashion and it is fun to show my personality through it.
But with work and all the crazy that is going on in the world, it can be hard to find moments where I can explore my personal style and moreover be able to find joy in styling myself.

I have found some inspiration through these skirts I found on Mercari. They are from a brand called thridda which I believe is a now defunct Japanese brand known for remake garments.
I have bought two so far, this awesome navy blue one with “Southern Iowa Track & Field” written in yellow lettering that I have on in the featured photos and also a red one with “Tulsa Drillers” written across the top. They are both midi length.
I feel really comfortable moving around the city center in these as I don’t feel like people will be ogling at me due to the length (yes, that is a big problem here. Men act as if you’re naked if you wear anything that gives bad bitch). I can be comfortable and still look good within my own personal style.

As I get older, I really take buying clothes more seriously. I want to really love the things I buy and find creative new ways to wear them. I want to choose things I truly love and not be influenced by what celebrities or influencers wear. I want to wear pieces that accentuate my beautiful figure without feeling objectified by gross men (even though it’s hard to avoid that because Japan has such a conservative dressing culture).
As it gets really hot here, I’ll do my best to stay cool and look cool at the same time 😊
PS: look at my latest nail set! The sea foam green hand is inspired by Dior and the starfish hand is inspired by Roberto Cavalli.
